Late again…

Well, it seems like this is becoming a regular occurrence on Thursday’s being late getting the blog out. I had good reason for this one being late. We made a road trip to Navarre to listen to our good friends with Southern Drawl Band play at Juana’s. What a fun night we had. The weather was perfect so all the sides were down in the Pagoda. A big crowd of folks were there the entire time. We had a good group of Mambo’ians make the trip there….Wayne, Julie, Suzanne, Judie, Kelly and Kenny all drove over.

Southern Drawl Band last Sunday at Crab Island Cantina

While we were there, Lynley and Robbie, the Calypso Nuts came in. They live about 2 miles from Juana’s and they stopped in for a while to listen to the music. You will be seeing and hearing more updates on them as they are now a part of the Mambo family too. We even ran into an old Parrot Head friend, Carol. She moved away to Alaska years ago but was in town for a few days and we just happened to run into her. Small world.

With a younger spring break crowd the band played music geared to a younger audience. And the crowd ate it up. They are at Juana’s the rest of the weekend. Get over to see them if you can.

The rest of the week had Sunshine Cindy and I going to Sago on Tuesday night to wind down after a tough day at work. Tommy was there keeping everyone working. Izzy took care of us. I was happy as they had hockey on several of their TV’s. Tuesday’s is dollar draft day at Sago. We love that

Kelly is ready for more beach time

Wednesday we ran some errands after work. Sunshine Cindy and I ended up at Landshark Pizza for their wing night. Wings are just $.59 each. That is a great deal for the best wings in town. Brian, Sue, Jonelle, and Glen were at a table as we walked in. Paige, Holly and Jason were working. Paige is only days from having her baby. She is ready to start this “Mother” phase of her life. Not too long after we got there, B came in and joined us for the evening. He is owner of Paradise Paper and will be supplying us some special plastic glasses for our wedding. B is a lot of fun and a great guy.

We ended up staying pretty late. About the time we were getting ready to leave a group of folks came in. It was Barry and Sami with some friends. It’s been a while since we saw Barry. Sami came to our Trop Rock Music Series show at the Cantina but it was great seeing them both again. Finally, we called it a night and headed home.

Sunshine Cindy and I don’t have any major plans for the weekend. No telling where you might see us around town! Enjoy your weekend! See ya Monday!
