Destin Day’s…

It has been an exciting week so far for Sunshine Cindy and me. We met with Carlos, the GM of Crab Island Cantina to see if the Cantina and Crab Island Mambo might be able to work together bringing in even more Trop Rock musical acts to Destin. Last year we had several acts play at the Cantina highlighted by the Southern Drawl Band who played four times. This year we will still have Southern Drawl at the Cantina but we now have a dedicated monthly slot for Trop Rock music at the Cantina.

Starting March 21st, each third Friday through October will be, “Embrace the Chaos! Trop Rock Music Series at The Cantina!” I will be bringing in some of the best Trop Rock talent to perform on the Cantina stage. Show times will be 5-9 pm. We will be developing a special “Mambo Member” card that we will distribute for free. The card will entitle you to receive 15% off all food and drinks during the show. It’s a great deal and we will work to get other local businesses to accept it for discounts too. The card will be available in a few weeks.

We also booked the act for the March 21st show. Coming up from the Tampa area will be the “Trop Rock Junkies.” This six member band is in high demand around the country. They play a great mix of original, tropical, island and even some Jimmy Buffett music. I guarantee you will be up and dancing to their music. Put March 21st on your calendar.

Sunshine Cindy and I are really excited to be able to help promote Trop Rock Music and we thank Carlos and Crab Island Cantina for working with us. The Cantina has great food, strong drinks and the best sunset on the harbor. You can usually find Sunshine Cindy and yours truly there a couple of times a week. It is affordable and always a lot of fun. Stop in the next time you are on the harbor.

The rest of the week was spent on two main projects. Sunshine Cindy is trying to finalize the wedding invitation and I was working on the Crab Island Mambo Mullet Wrapper. We hope to get the invitations out this weekend and I will be publishing the Mullet Wrapper this Saturday. It will be another fine edition if I do say so myself! LOL

Margaritaville

Around town the snowbirds are out in full force. It looks like we have quite a few more in town this year judging by the increase in traffic. Of course it might only seem like it because they drive so slow!

Have a great weekend. It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow. Saturday Jan and Kenny are playing at The Boathouse starting at 7 pm. Monday is Margaritaville’s grand opening at 10 am. I hope to see you around town. Monday I will have a full update on all the activities. See ya then!
